While the western WBC teams have yet to release provisional rosters publicly, the

Pitchers: The most notable pitcher on the roster is Ryu Hyun-Jin, a career 98-52 pitcher in the KBO who is trying to work out a contract with the Dodgers. The only way there is any chance of him actually pitching in the WBC is if no deal is made and he instead stays in Korea. This is unlikely, especially since it’s thought that if he doesn’t make a deal with the Dodgers he might go to Japan instead.
Now, the other pitchers, all of them in KBO. Suk-Min Yoon is, statistically, one of the best of the bunch in the provisional roster save for Hyun-Jin, going 9-8 with a 3.12 ERA for a 62-65-6 (there are ties in the KBO) KIA Tigers club. It was down year after a 2011 campaign that saw him be named league MVP. Jang Won-Sam is another potential ace for the team, having gone 17-6 for Samsung in 2012 with a 3.55 ERA, leading the league in wins along the way.
In the bullpen, the closer will likely be Seung-Hwan Oh, who had 37 saves last season in KBO.
Catchers: Two catchers on this provisional roster. Gap-Young hit .306 for the champion Samsung Lions, while Min-Ho Kang hit .273 with 19 HRs playing for the Lotte Giants.
Infielders: The first basemen on this team really stand out: The lone player on this list active in Japan and not Korea this past season is 1B Dae-Ho Lee, playing for Orix. He hit .286 and had 24 HRs for them, and back during his KBO days he set a world record for consecutive games hitting a home run when he went deep in nine straight games. He probably will be platooning at first with Seung-Yeop Lee, who hit .307 with 21 HR in Korea last season but who has spent time in Japan and has had close to 500 total home runs between KBO and NPB, and Tae-Kyun Kim, who won the batting title in Korea last season.
Outfielders: Shin-Soo Choo is unlikely to take part, but hasn’t been unconfirmed enough to be taken off the list. If he plays, he’ll probably be the best and most recognizable name on the Korean team.
Meanwhile, Yong-Kyu Lee is a speedster who could be a big threat on the basepaths, as he won the KBO steals title with 44.
