George Halas is best known for being a Hall of Fame coach and player in the NFL, primarily for the Chicago Bears. But he also had a short baseball career with the Yankees:

It is possible that Halas would have had a longer baseball career if he’s stuck with it… but considering the outfielder the Yankees acquired after the 1919 season, maybe not…
