Last night’s news can be found here, go below the jump for the latest World Baseball Classic news from the overnight:
Still no full release of the 28-man rosters for the WBC, so until then…
Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes retweeted Dionisio Soldevila‘s tweets about what is apparently the 28-man roster of the Dominican Republic. I’ve put it in a more easy-to-read format below:
Catchers: Carlos Santana, Francisco Pena
Infielders: Juan Encarnacion, Robinson Cano, Jose Reyes, Hanley Ramirez, Miguel Tejada, Leury Garcia, Erick Aybar
Outfielders: Nelson Cruz, Ricardo Nanita, Alejandro De Aza, Moises Sierra, Melky Mesa
Pitchers (one still to be determined since Cueto was blocked): Wandy Rodriguez, Edinson Volquez, Samuel Deduno, (Fabio?) Castro, Octavio Dotel, Santiago Casilla, Kelvin Herrera, Jose Valverde, Pedro Strop, Alfredo Simon, Juan Cedeno, Jose Veras
More wackiness from Asia, where Team Cuba and the KBO’s NC Dinos cancelled a game because they couldn’t agree on what type of baseball they were going to use.
Jonathan Isenia of the Orioles organization has made Team Netherlands. Oh, and the Dutch will continue their warm-up games in Taiwan.
Speaking of the Dutch, Roger Bernadina leaves Nationals camp on Saturday to go join them.
More WBC news if it comes out. And don’t forget Joe Connor’s WBC guide!
Its Angel Castro..
