Cody Ross was 5-for-5 yesterday. While he didn’t drive anybody in, he did score thrice. And that’s impressive, which is why he’s the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings… well, you know the drill:
Cody Ross was 5-for-5 yesterday. While he didn’t drive anybody in, he did score thrice. And that’s impressive, which is why he’s the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings… well, you know the drill:
Going 4-4 with 2 walks and five RBIs in the Mets’ 12-5 victory over the Brewers, Kirk Nieuwenhuis is the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings, as always, after the jump:
Yunel Escobar went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs in the Rays’ victory over the Astros in 11 innings yesterday, and his double in the 11th was what gave the Rays the lead for good. Therefore, I name him the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings, as always, after the jump:
The MVP of Yesterday was Justin Ruggiano of the Marlins, who went 2-4 with a HR, a walk and 3 RBIs in the Fish’s 6-3 win over the Braves.
Standings, as always, under the jump:
Williams Perez of the Rome Braves had the night of a lifetime last night, holding off the great Alex Rodriguez, getting him to ground into a double play and then later striking him out!
Just kidding, it’s Homer Bailey, who threw his second no-hitter and the first since… he did it last year on September 28. I mean, if you throw a no-hitter, you basically HAVE to be the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings, as always, after the jump:
Robinson Cano went 3-for-4 with a walk and had two home runs and three RBIs in the Yankee win yesterday, making him the MVP of Yesterday.
As always, standings after the jump:
Justin Masterson threw a complete-game shutout of the White Sox, striking out eight. That’s a pretty good way to become the MVP of Yesterday.
Honorable Mentions: David Lough, Manny Machado, Yasiel Puig, Chris Sale (in a loss) and Mat Latos (also in a loss).
Standings, as always, after the jump:
With apologies to Adam Wainwright and Justin Turner, the 5-RBI and 2 HR performance for Chris Davis earns him the MVP of Yesterday. With 30 homers before the break, both Brady Andersen’s 50 HR record for the Orioles and perhaps even Roger Maris‘ AL-record 61 could, theoretically, be under threat.
4-for-4, two home runs and three RBIs. Just another day at the office for Miguel Cabrera, the MVP of Yesterday.
Standings, as usual, after the jump:
Want to know the easiest way to win the MVP of Yesterday? Throw a shutout. Especially if you don’t give up many hits.
Derek Holland did that yesterday, throwing a 2-hit complete game shutout against the Yankees… in Yankee Stadium. Impressive, even with the C-list lineup the Yankees have been throwing out of late.
So, Holland, the “Dutch Oven”, wins MVP of Yesterday. Go below the jump for the standings:
